Well, the BIG weekend is almost here…Sarah’s Bat Mitzvah!  I hope everyone is planning to join us for Friday or Saturday or, better yet, BOTH days!  Here are the details:

Bat Mitzvah Celebration

Sarah Whitehead will celebrate her Bat Mitzvah this Saturday!  Rabbi Nancy Tunick and Scott Whitehead would like to invite all congregants to share in this beautiful event which will begin at 10:00am Saturday, at the Temple.  There will also be a Kiddush lunch, immediately following the service, at the Shoals Gold Record Room.  In addition, on Friday night our congregation will host a special Oneg in Sarah’s honor, following services.  All congregants are asked to please bring a dish to share at the Oneg – and plan to bring extra as there will be several out of town guests coming!

Our condolences go out to Liz Muhlendorf and all the Muhlendorf family on the loss of Liz’s brother, Don Levy, this past Tuesday, October 31.  May his memory be a blessing.  Our hearts are with you during this difficult time.

 Jewish Federated Charities Donation Letter

Last week you should have received an email from me that included a letter from Marty Abroms asking for your support of Tri-Cities Jewish Federated Charities.  If you did not receive this communication, please let me know and I will send it again.  Please carefully consider the request and send donations to our Treasure, Marty Abroms at: P.O. Box 632 Florence, AL 35631.

Donate and Shop on Our Website!

Check out the new additions to our Website!  We have two new tabs on our Website – a Donate tab and a Shop tab.  In addition, a “Donate to the Temple” option has been made available on the Home page.

You can now order T-shirts (short and long sleeved), tote bags and hats with the Temple Logo on them right from the comfort of your own home!  You can also order a copy of Erwin’s book there too!  Go check it out!  Place an order and tell your family and friends to do the same!

And, you can now make a donation in honor of, in memory of, for the recovery of, or a Yahrzeit donation – and request notifications/cards be sent, right from our site!  If you prefer to send in the written form, that’s there too – look for the link at the bottom of the Donations Page!  It’s never been easier to make a donation and/or to let someone know you are thinking of them!

 Where are Those Pictures?

Have you ever wondered where all those pictures that Phil Abroms takes end up?  Well, if you are on Facebook (or know someone who is and who will share…), check out the Temple B’nai Israel page or even Phil Abrom’s personal page (Phil has all kinds of stuff from all over the community which you might enjoy but the Temple page is specificly Temple-related pictures.  There are, of course, a few pictures on our Website but the best place to see LOTS of pictures is on our Facebook page!  Check it out and many thanks to Phil for being our photographer!
