Hello all! I hope you had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend and were able to find a way to not only relax and enjoy it but to also think about the many lives that have been sacrificed for our freedoms. I know we don’t always agree on how things should work in this country but I expect we can all agree that taking a little time to remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice – for our freedom to agree and disagree – is an important thing to do each year. I know there were a number of events around the community and on TV so, I hope you had a chance to participate in one form or another.
Thanks for the Party!
Speaking of those in the military and, in particular, our very own veteran, Erwin Coleman…we had a wonderful celebration of Erwin’s 97th birthday on Sunday, the 28th! We had a great turn out and it really seemed to mean a great deal to Erwin and his family. Thanks to everyone for bringing food to share – everything was wonderful and I saw quite a few plates stacked REALLY high! Thanks, too, to those that helped with the set-up – everything was just beautiful and the slide show was such fun! And, of course, many thanks to all who stayed and helped clean-up after the party was over. With all those hands, it made for a quick clean-up and reset of the sanctuary! And, I would be remiss if I didn’t thank Howard Zeff for his efforts at organizing the whole thing – you are a blessing to us all, Howard! (Because I am afraid I will miss someone that helped set-up or clean-up, I am not going to try and name names here but, you know who you are and please know how very much your efforts are appreciated!!!)
