I hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend! It was so nice all weekend and I hope you were able to get out and enjoy it. I don’t know if it’s just because I’m getting older and just pay more attention – or if things really have changed – but it seems to me that we do a better job remembering those that have died for our country than we used to.  I’m really thankful and proud that we take this time every year to remember.

So, we are back on track for services this week. Yes, I know this is “First Friday” and I hope you will get a chance to get out and enjoy that a bit…so far the weather forecast is partly sunny but HOT…but please come-on-down for services too!

Did you know that Erwin Coleman just turned 96?     We will be celebrating this grand event on June 10!   To learn more, visit our Website and check out the Calendar entry for June 10 at:  www.florencetemple.org.

As I mentioned in last week’s message, Rabbi Nancy has set her schedule through the end of August and, while these dates have been added to the calendar on our Website, I am also including them here for your reference:

  • June 10 and 17
  • July 8 and 22
  • August 12 and 26

Everyone is also invited to attend the weekly Torah Study group that meets each Saturday morning at 9:30, at the Temple.

Remember that next week, June 10th, we will be celebrating Erwin Coleman’s 96th birthday. Services will begin 30 minutes earlier than usual – 6:30pm – and the celebration will begin about 7:00pm. We are expecting a big turn-out of our Temple members as well as a number of individuals from the Shoals community, in general.  You don’t want to miss it!

As always, if you have any announcements you would like for me to share with our membership, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me.

I hope you all have a wonderful week and I look forward to seeing you at First Friday AND services on the 3rd!

Shalom!

Traci Welch
