Let me start by saying I apologize that I am a day late getting this out this week…I don’t know where my day went yesterday! At this point, all I can do is apologize and promise to do better next week!  So, I am so sorry!  But, on to more important things…

Our first social event of the year was a success! I think we had 40-45 people show up for our big Soup, Chili and Trivia night…and everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves.  The food was wonderful, as always, so I thank everyone for contributing…I don’t think there was much left over which means we all ate a LOT…it was hard not to!  Thanks to Howard Zeff and his Social Committee for setting everything up and getting everything organized.  Thanks to Jean Mammen for all her efforts in organizing and leading our Trivia game and thanks to Alan Weitz for assisting in the effort too!  It was a tight race but, in the end, the team of Shelly and Ken Wolf, Sallie Muhlendorf, Liz Muhlendorf and Jane Chasan swept in and took first place.  (Note to self…get on Ken Wolf’s team next time!)  Anyway, thanks to all who organized, cooked, shopped, attended and cleaned up!  It was a fun night and we look forward to the next event!

Community Seder – Make Your Reservations Now

By now you should have received your reservation form for the Seder and, hopefully, you have completed it and sent it back in along with your payment.  Remember, the seating will be limited so get your forms in as soon as you can.

One thing I would ask that you keep in mind is, because our seating is limited, we would like to accommodate our members and their families first. I know there are several people, including myself, who would like to bring guests and I am not saying you shouldn’t do that but what I am asking is that you limit the number of (non-family) guests that you invite until our members have had time to reserve seats for themselves and their families.  Our committee will let us all know if it appears that we will have available seats for others as we get closer to the reservation cut-off date.  Also, keep in mind that we need a firm headcount and payment (enough in advance) so that our caterer will be able to prepare the proper number of meals.  Please don’t pop up the day of the Seder with a guest that was unexpected and whose meal has not been paid for…The committee wants this to be a fun and meaningful event for all of us, please don’t put undue stress on them by ignoring the established process.

PLEASE NOTE – we need help from the congregation with this one item:

We will be decorating the tables this year with a variety of Seder plates. If you have a family Seder plate or two that you are willing to allow us to use for the evening, please contact Buddy Bernstein and let him know. We will need these by Sunday, April 9 but will need to be aware of your commitment to bring one (or more) as soon as possible.

 Reminder items:

If you are aware of something in the community that you would like me to draw some attention to in my message, please let me know! And, as always, if you have any announcements you would like for me to share with our membership, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me.

I hope you all have a wonderful week and I look forward to seeing you this Friday night!

Shalom!
