If you haven’t already heard, please note that we will NOT hold services this Friday. A number of circumstances occurred that make cancellation necessary this week but we’ll be back to our regular schedule again starting on Friday, May 12 (see the upcoming schedule, below).  We appreciate everyone’s understanding!  Note> Torah Study will be held during the normally scheduled time at 9:30am on Saturday, May 6.

A History of Temple B’nai Israel Celebration

We have set the date of Sunday, May 28 for our combination 97th birthday celebration/book signing event for Erwin Coleman.  The team of Karen Goldstein and Shelley Wolf have been working diligently to get the updated book finalized and printed and we believe this is a “safe” date to now schedule.  Please put it on your calendar and plan to join us that day from 2pm-4pm at the Temple.  This event will be open to others in the Shoals community and we want it to be memorable so please plan to bring a finger food item to share with others who are attending.

 2017 Handy Fest

The date for our next WC Handy festival event has now been scheduled…it will be Saturday, July 29.  The performance, by Rabbi Nancy and her husband, Scott Whitehead, will be held at the Temple.  As the date grows closer, I will be asking for volunteers to assist in the preparations for and clean-up following the event so please consider helping out – we won’t need a lot of volunteers but it would be nice to see some new faces!  Regardless, I hope you will plan on attending the performance as it is always a lot of fun and a crowd favorite!
