Hello Everyone!
Our community Seder is this Friday starting at 6:00pm at the Temple! Rabbi Nancy will be here to lead us in our celebration so it promises to be a fun event, as always! As a reminder, Jane Zeff has asked for volunteers to help with decorating the tables this Wednesday (April 20) at 1:00pm. If you are available, please stop in and give her a hand. Also – please note on your calendar that volunteers will also be needed to help break down the tables and reset the sanctuary seating on Saturday (April 23) at 11:30am (following Torah Study). NOTE> We will NOT be staying Friday night after the Seder to do this.
This past Saturday (April 16th) we provided desserts for the Soup Kitchen. Thanks to everyone who donated either by bringing in dessert items or by making a donation for the purchase of items. Many thanks to Fran and Brian Jacobs for all they do to get these items delivered to the Soup Kitchen and distributed to those in need each month. Thanks, also, to Ken and Shelley Wolf for doing the shopping for additional desserts based on those financial donations provided! According to Fran, we helped feed about 125 individuals this month! Our next date for dessert contributions is Saturday, May 21. How about baking up some goodies between now and then and maybe we can have a record number of home-made items to share!
Don’t know what’s going on at the Temple? Go out and check the calendar on the new Website! You will find the site at www.florencetemple.org. In addition to the Calendar you will find: Information about the Temple, pictures of the Temple and our members, copies of messages from both the Rabbi and the President, opportunities to share a comment, a link to our new Temple email address, and more! We’ve already had individuals from the community reach out to us based on this new, user-friendly format! (And for those that might be a bit unsure how to navigate the site, I will be creating a “How To” guide that I will include in a future communication.)
For your quick reference, Rabbi Nancy will be with us on the following dates through June:
- April 22 (Seder) and 29
- May 6 and 13
- June 10 and 17
On those nights when Nancy is not able to join us, the Ritual Committee will ensure services are provided. If you would like to participate in any part of our services, please reach out to our Ritual Committee Co-Chairs, Ken Wolf and Robert Adler, to let them know.
Our Torah study group also meets each Saturday morning at 9:30.
Please note > It has been decided that, due to the Memorial Day weekend, we will NOT have services Friday night, May 27! Please mark your calendar accordingly!
